New EntranceAs of March 1, 2022...
our new entrance is 2731 West 2nd Street. Park and enter through the front door of our 1840 Historic Home, called WeatherBerry! It is also available for your next private event! 
VolunteerVolunteer to help keep The Garden beautiful with First Weekend Wonders. Work sessions are on the 1st Saturday of every month. Join us July 2nd! We have lots of other opportunies as well, from baking and teaching, to weeding and planting. The Garden needs YOU!

Still to come for the Path of Hope & Healing: Concrete pathways around the butterfly, glass ribbons, lighting, and final landscape are on the way. We do have a very nice sign installed that details the meaning of the path. 
New Entrance
Volunteers have enhanced the entrance to the pathway that connects the new garden with the existing garden. Landscape architect George Riddle designed the landscape and helped get it installed. Southern Star Community Outreach was here to help install.

We're excited for our recent purchase of the historic WeatherBerry home. Stay tuned for what we have planned!
We have moved to our new entrance at WeatherBerry at 2731 West 2nd Street! We have a lot of planning to do yet, but we have relocated our offices as of March 1, 2022.
To coincide with these changes, Garden operating hours will change also. Beginning March 1st, our new hours will be Monday - Saturday 9am to 4pm, Sundays open 12pm to 4pm. WeatherBerry visitor center will be closed on all holidays. We plan to have a garden staff/ volunteer greet every guest. We are seeking volunteers to be present at WeatherBerry to take admission and assist with any gift shop sales. YES- we said it- Gift Shop!
Please know our gift shop will start out small but we hope to slowly grow the inventory and offer some local wares as well as soft drinks/ water. Tours of WeatherBerry will be offered on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 1pm during our Growing Season (March - October). No on-demand tours will be offered. All other tour requests must be handled in advance and subject to an extra fee.

The Path of Hope and Healing
This project is intended to be an uplifting experience, through the healing powers of nature, for all of us affected by cancer. It recognizes the most common cancers diagnosed in KY.
Your experience begins as you exit the back door of WeatherBerry and encounter a 320 foot meandering pathway installed by Ward Pedley, Jr. Along the pathway, the visitor will encounter 12 glass ribbons made by Daviess County native, Brook White. Each ribbon will be a different color to represent various types of cancers, which are also incorporated into the wings of a substantial butterfly sculpture. |
The butterfly sculpture was created by local glass artist, Scott Poynter and local metal worker, Chris Schartung. The sculpture stands nearly 21 feet tall...and was recently installed!!!!

The activities such as the service project at the Botanical Garden
was a unique experience that I had never really gotten to have.
Sure, we just pulled weeds from a Daylily Garden, but walking around
and seeing how nice and beautiful the flowers were made me think
that being a hundred miles from where I call home would be

Took my Mom to the Lilly festival and Balloons over the Garden event! What a beautiful place and event! We both had a wonderful evening and it is so nice to have such a gorgeous place right here in Owensboro. Thanks to all the volunteers that keep the gardens so nice. We will be back!

We visited your garden on a chilly day in April. It was our first time visiting Kentucky and thoroughly enjoyed your garden as one of the highlights. We could envision how it would look once your weather warmed up. However, the sculptures provided entertainment that made up for the lack of flowers. We live in California, so cannot volunteer, but would love to if we were closer!
