Directions to the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden WKBG is located in Owensboro, Kentucky, a city of approximately 60,000 people. Owensboro is well known for its annual barbeque festival, always held the second weekend in May. Owensboro also has many other qualities that we are proud of as well. Money magazine has rated Owensboro-Daviess County as having the third lowest incidence of violent crime in a recent annual "best places to live" ranking. The job growth rate currently is the highest of any community in a multi-state region. Plus, we have outstanding schools, including four colleges/universities, a reasonable cost-of-living and a GREAT BOTANICAL GARDEN! Come visit us! We are easy to find: Just look at the above map and note that Carter Road is a street that intersects with Highway 60 on the west side of Owensboro. Turn North onto Carter Road from either direction on Highway 60 (in town highway 60 is divided into two one-way streets - 2nd & 4th). Once you are on Carter Road and north of 2nd Street you will soon see a paved road to the right and a large Western Kentucky Botanical Garden sign. Turn here and go to our parking lot the visitor's center will be to your left. You are welcome to come inside and/or take a self-guided tour of The Garden anytime between our normal business hours.
