Below are materials the classroom teacher will need when teaching the David Rogers' Big Bugs Educational Program to their 3rd and 4th grade students at the Garden.

The concept behind the David Rogers Big Bugs Educational Program is for the classroom teacher to teach their 3rd and 4th graders about the Big Bugs at the Garden with material provided by the WKBG Education Committee.

The classroom materials provided by the WKBG Education Committee are available for you to download.  You can find them when scanning the Events and Resources column.  The materials are:

  • -the academic standards- located in the first two entries.

  • -the 16 page Booklet, which provides the content material for the educational program.-located in the third entry.

  • -the Teacher Activity Sheet, which includes the test questions for the students, the answers and enriching activities for students that the teacher when challenging their students during their visit to the Garden - located in the fourth entry.

  • - the Student Activity Sheet, which is the test for students- located in the fifth entry.

  • -the Vocabulary to help students when using the Booklet-located in the sixth entry.

Annual Plant Sales

Accompanying the Garden’s annual plant sales are a wide range of classes taught by spectacular experts. Examples of past sale classes (no guarantees as to content or presenter's for any future classes).  
     

Recurring Activities

Volunteer Workdays are opportunities to work alongside experienced gardeners, including Master Gardeners, and to help the Garden in its ongoing effort to be beautiful and well groomed.  
  Walk, Talk and Lunch series during the four month run is a delightful way to enjoy a topnotch authority on a specific aspect of gardening and be served a delicious lunch. This series may vary but is typically conducted throughout the months of March, April, May, and June.
